waste-waist asked: hello! i am struggling to figure out how many calories i need a day. i took a look at your intake -d o you have any idea how many you eat? xx
That entirely depends on lots of different things - but almost every single human being needs at least 2000 calories a day, so do avoid ever having less than that (unless you’re extremely short or something). Even if you aren’t doing any exercise at all!
Getting enough calories in the form of a varied, balanced diet should ensure that you’re getting all the nutrients your body needs.
If you need to gain weight, aim for a minimum of 2500.
If you’re currently eating significantly less than this, you need to up your intake ASAP, regardless of your weight. Undereating suppresses your metabolism which means that a lot of important body functions (such as cell renewal, hormone production, growing etc.) can be impaired and over a period of time, your body will be damaged by this.
(TW calorie intake) In the past few days, I know I’ve been undereating because I’m ill and really struggling to get food in - I don’t track calories but if I roughly add them up it averages on a low(!) 1500-1800 calories a day, I think.
Just my guess though :) I’m really hoping I’ll manage to increase (tomorrow hopefully) because I know that my body cannot afford to be damaged in this way again/any more.
